Hi, First of i/ll start by saying that i am new to this forum and have signed up due to a problem with my vehicle. My problem came after disconnecting the negative terminal from the battery of my 1999 grand vitara. This is the ONLY thing that i did. upon reconnecting the battery my instrument panel lights were flashing on and off, and the vehicle was beeping in sync with the flashing. all other electronics, radio, A/c, and interior lights seem to be function properly, however the car would not even crank, does anyone know what is happening? any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Brake shoe pawl lever pin/boss?
Does anyone know if these pins are somehow removable or otherwise "optional"?
I went to replace the rear shoes and got a new set at Bap/Geon for 17 bucks. Right size, but only realized after going to put it back on that they are missing an aluminum boss that the "pawl lever" rides on. Tried to extract the press-fit pin from the old set of shoes, but ended up breaking it instead. Do some shoe manufacturers include the bosses and some do not?

new to this forum
Long time member of another forum but new to the Suzuki's. I have an 01 Suzuki esteem 1.6L and find it to be a great little winter car. Good on gas and I find they have a pretty solid engine that takes a lickin n keeps on tickin provided you keep on top of regular maintainance which I do a fair bit on my own to save. I've been finding lately its got a hard cold start and the colder it is the longer it cranks before it turns over. I was thinking maybe coolant temp. Sensor but the fans kick on when they're supposed to and the temp. Seems to always be in range. 1. Where is the head temp sensor located on the 01 esteem? I was also thinking either clean up any corrosion on the starter connections ie. Ground. I picked up a used starter to try and swap as well. The battery is only about 6-7 months old as well as had the alt. Rebuilt as it went on me so I put the new battery in around the same time I had the alt. Rebuilt. Then I was thinking possibly fuel pump on its way out or possibly crank sensor but neither of those I don't think would be temperature related. Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated and thanks in advance. :)

Buying wheels - offset, width ??
So I got this 2002 Jimny just a few weeks ago, two of the rims are badly damaged, looking to change out the complete set ..
Like these:
http://www.summitracing.com/int/part...13-2/overview/
But I see 2 variations with 3.00 in and 4.00 in backspace (Summitracing sales wasn't even sure what it meant, claims it is the offset). I have 215x70x15 on it now what else would i need to know to determine which of the 3 options to get and what is this offset and else I need to know? and am I suppose to not exceed 7.5 width for the rim itself? oh and the 5x5.5 is the same as 5x139.7 ??

Radiator Replacement-When Buying New Rad - FYI
So another story in continuing saga of T-belt replacement precipitated by original radiator top tank letting loose from core (after 20 years) Ordered new radiator from Advance Auto Parts, P/N 432281, (yes, made in China) used %off code and got a great deal, shipped to home free, opened box to check for damage, (none) size matches up w/ old rad perfectly, cap from old radiator doesn't %$#&* fit!! No one, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE, at Advance and three other parts stores has any idea: 1)Why old cap doesn't fit, 2) What dimensions of new radiator neck are, to find cap that fits, 3) Where to go from here. (What vehicle is this for? Book shows it should fit. As I am standing there, with new rad, and cap from old rad saying, NO, IT DON'T FIT, SEE, DUH!!!) Advance absolutely NO help. &%$#*!!!! Now what do I do?? Finally found in customer reviews, on Advance site under radiator description (no info on neck there), some other poor SOB had same problem and sourced NAPA P/N 703-1712 cap that fits perfectly and has right pressure rating. So, If you buy above P/N new rad, you need above P/N cap to fit it. (Only lost 4.5 hours on finding cap to fit) There, I saved someone else a whole bunch of time. And as Bex says, "SEARCH" the forum, lots of answers are already out there for you to get.

Fuel Pump Wires, what is what? pictures...
Hello guys
I smashed in my stock gas tank and needed to change it out. I was able to get ahold of a 1997 X90 gas tank, it is in good shape, a little smaller and I will be without a fuel gauge for a bit but it will work. Problem I am now having is getting power to the fuel pump. I used the fuel pump from my gas tank and put it in the X90 tank. Just the pump, it fit and was the same size and everything hooked up no problem.
Problem is the X90 tank only has the two wires, (red, black) I do know what is what with that end but when I am trying to splice power into the fuel pump from the tracker side I am left with 4 wires, blue with white line, pink with black line, black, black with yellow line.
The pink with black line is larger, and same size as the black. But when I put a volt meter on it it does not show power. The only power I can get out of any of the wires is 7V from the blue wire. When I hook up the blue wire with ground the pump does not turn on. I have the tank on the floor while I am doing this. I did hook up a good pump by its self with just the two wires connected to the blue / black and pink / black and nothing,
This is a woods buggy for the most part, 2001 4 door 2.0L auto. please let me know how I can get this friggin pump to turn on!!! Or will i need to run a switch directly to the pump?

GV 2006 Wheels seized up
My GV has around 80,000 miles on it about 2 years ago when it still had warranty I noticed a whiny grinding noise coming from the drive train. I took it to the dealership and they replaced the transfer case (AWD) and it went away.
About a year and half later I heard the whine noise so I layed off the Suzuki and drove my truck off and on. My wife's car had some problems so I let her drive my Suzuki. About 2 weeks of her driving she stated she heard a loud noise and drove it about a block back to the house.
I got home to survey the damage (pitch black at night) and the engine sounded good, the transmission seems to shift, but if I tried to reverse or go forward it would move about 6 inches and then lock up like I had it in park. If you revved the engine (bad mistake btw) the car will jolt forward again and then lock up. I would go back to the dealer but the closest one is 100 miles away.
I figure it has something to do with the transfer case again or the front differential since the noise came from there. I know I'm going to have to take it to my shop, warranty is gone now. Is this a known issue in GV's? I'm a special case? Do I have any kind of leeway with Suzuki because they replaced part of the problem already?

Very little heat. Help please
I recently got a 2007 suzuki reno and now that it is cold outside I have noticed it barely heats. It is kind of a weird situation when I put the heat on vent (the ones that blow out towards your face) the middle and left vents blow warm-ish air but the one all the way to the right is blowing cold air. the same is happening with the defrost the left (drivers) side is warm (again not hot), but the right side is cold. It just never gets very warm in the car and I have three young children that are freezing in the back not to mention I am rather uncomfortable in there as well. I replaced the thermostat hoping that was part of the issue but that didn't seem to do much if any good. I also cleaned the cabin air filter (the local autoparts didnt have one and it was not in that bad of shape). I was just looking for some insight on potential problems and solutions I've never really worked on this model of car before nor had this particular problem before. I started taking the dash apart to see if there were some plumbing problems with the vents and what not but, taking the dash apart is in itself a difficult task and I was hoping for some tips on how to do it or hopefully a fix for the heater that didn't require me doing this. All the blend door actuators etc. seem to be operating correctly as far as i can tell with out opening up the whole heat vent system.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

swing away spare tire
Hey, Can anyone tell me if it's possible to put one of these on my 93 geo tracker? how hard will it be and how i'd go about doing it? I want to put a hard top on mine but I want to be able to access the back without alot of fuss, right now i've got the standard mount and I still wouldn't be able to get into the back without taking it off the car.
Thanks, Tammy

More Body Lift questions
Having searched the forum for details on a body lift for the Tracker, I'm left with some questions relating to the body lifts I've installed on my Jeeps.
I'm thinking a 1", maybe 2" max, body lift.
I see where some have issues with the steering shaft
Some have issues with the shifter clearances.
and maybe some fuel filler hose issues.
Question #1.
I didn't see any mention of the radiator/engine fan alignment. Does it need to be repositioned with the body raising and the engine/fan staying put?
* I use motor mount spacers to lift the engine fan up with the radiator (which also improves the driveline angle on my lifted Jeeps).
Question #2.
My Tracker has A/C. Any issues with a/c hoses being too short?
Any further tips or ideas are appreciated.

X90 starting issues
I have a 1996 Suzuki X90.(4x4, 1.6l, 16 valve, automatic). I have recently replace alternator, starter and battery. When turning key to acc in park car wants to start right up...wondering if this is an ignition issue. Currently even without key and battery connected wants to start but doesn't turn over completely. Condition has gotten worse...I was able to turn key and slam into neutral and car would start....now just continuous (what appears to be) starter run on. Any help out here would be greatly appreciated....the snow is beginning to fall.:o

2003 Tracker, front carrier destroyed, need years of donors.
I just bought a USA 2003 Tracker ZR2 4door V6 Auto, for off road use only The 4 wheel drive would not engage, so I followed the troubleshooting guidelines and thought it was the diaphragm. I planned on installing a 2" spacer lift and removing the diff and doing the weld mod. Unfortunately after pulling the third member there were broken pieces laying in the bottom of the diff. The 4 "ears" that hold the left side bearing/diaphragm/spider to the rest of the carrier were broken off completely. I believe I have a 4.88 gear (39/8) What years Tracker etc. can I get a donor third member? I would like the non diaphragm style.
Thank You in advance.

1990 Sammy lift
First of all I want to say thanks in advance for any help or answers y'all can help me with. I am picking up my new toy in 2 weeks, 1990 Sammy garage kept since new , 46,000 original miles. Anyway,,, wanting to lift it 3", shackles or new springs and shocks???? I have owned several jeep wranglers and lifted them myself, but never had to deal with leaf springs. So I can do either 3" shackles or new leafs and shocks, I want the ride to stay close to factory or better. It won't see extreme off road either. Thanks again..

tubing for rear washer 4dr sidekick
I originally thought the tubing for the back window washer was fully installed. I then found that the tubing comes from the fluid tank though the firewall and then stopped right near the HVAC. I was wondering if it goes through the drivers side rocker panel to the back or some other way. Any help would be appreciated. thanks
