HAPPY NEW YEAR Beach Toy! Now 21 years old!
So finally doing timing belt replacement (another story) precipitated by top tank tank letting loose on radiator, causing coolant flood in driveway (thanks to the Big Man for great location for this to happen, just got home from work), necessitating rad replacement, (and easier to do timing belt with rad out of the way), and have to pull fan/fan clutch as an assembly with rad to get it all out, (what fun!) and found fan clutch coated in gooey, greasy, goo; so added thermostatic fan clutch to parts order. Bought an Imperial brand fan clutch assembly (P/N 215028 on box, sub set numbers 2582) through Advance Auto Parts online, so I could use coupon for % off, had to pick ship to home, as none in stock in store. Part came (Made in Japan) and shaz-zam, fan clutch is Aisin brand! Exact fit, with same casting/tooling marks as original fan clutch. So FYI on part number/ brand for anybody else needing thermostatic fan clutch assembly. NOTE: you must transfer your old fan and studs from old clutch to new one (double nuts on studs and they come right out, back in on new one the same way), couldn't use under-counter parts washer in kitchen for fan (caught by wife) so cleaned up goo on old fan in sink instead. Looks great, and much smoother operation, can't wait to get installed. (still working on T-Belt).
